DAVID FLIES TO EAGLE’S “NEST”

Today at 2:00 PM, our own D Hoffmann, the son of W and B, brother of C, grandson of M Landis, and nephew of J Landis, will receive Boy Scouting’s highest rank, that of the Eagle, at a special program in our sanctuary.  We congratulate D on his achievement, and thank him for making the church’s shed his Eagle project.

SOCIAL MINISTRY LADIES!

…because parking is limited as well as difficult to maneuver at the Leonard’s house, you are asked to come to church by 6:45 tomorrow night and to board the van for the short trip to Chickentown.  Talk to Pastor if you want to be picked up at home.  The committee will tour the historical house, plan the Holiday Meal and 2007 activities…and of course have a “snack”.

“MOO MONEY” FOR THRIVENT BUILDS – HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Specially marked “Moo Money” milk caps are being collected to help receive funding from Turkey Hill Dairy.  Simply save any of the sticker lids from milk products purchased at a Turkey Hill Mini Market.  A collection box will be placed in the Narthex for your collecting any of them.  Thanks!

FELLOWSHIP NEWS:

1.       Amish Christmas Dinner

Join us for a feast of Amish food at the Fischer Farm on Saturday, December 2, and rediscover a simpler way of celebrating the season. The sign-up sheet hangs in the Tower Narthex and informational sheets are found atop the radiator.

2.       Overnight Trips in 2007

Your input is requested in planing another overnight, multi-day trip for next year.  Details about the five options – Asheville, Montreal, West Virginia Trains, Cape May, and Williamsburg – are posted in the Tower Narthex sill.  Please fill out the survey form and place it in the box in the sill.

CATECHETICAL CLASS ON HIATUS IN DECEMBER

…next Sunday will be the last catechetical class of 2006.  Classes will resume in January.  Students are asked to help out with the Sunday School Christmas pageant, however.

THANKSGIVING EVE SERVICE

Be sure and come to the Maytown Reformed Church, on East Elizabeth Street, here in Maytown, on November 22, at 7:00 PM for a fine Thanksgiving Eve service and reception.  Rev. Patrick Walker, the Regional Director of CROP, will preach and the other pastors in town will do the  Liturgy.  P Vogel will fill us in on the final results of the CROP Walk and afterwards, there will be food and fellowship time.  Let’s all remember to celebrate Thanksgiving by thanking God in church for our many blessings – not just taking time off, or watching football on TV, or eating too much turkey!  See you at church!

NEXT SUNDAY

…we will receive J Repine and her daughter, Ariana, into our church membership at the 11:00 AM service.  Later, WELCA will host a reception in the parlor to honor our new members.

+KYRA HOPE BARNES+

We welcome into the church of Jesus Christ this day, Kyra, the 6-year-old daughter of J and A Barnes and the sister of Noah.  The Barnes family lives in a townhouse in the Longwood section of Maytown.  Kyra regularly attends our Sunday School and she sings, with her brother, in the Junior Choir.  We welcome her into Christ’s family and ours!
