(Kneeling by using a loaf and choice of the common cup or individual glasses.)

(The first “table” to commune will be the choir.  The second table will be the first communion youth, their parents, siblings, and God-parents.  Then, the general congregation will commune as directed by the ushers.  Those on the choir loft side come forward via the side aisle, and return via the center aisle; those on the organ console side come forward via the center aisle and return via the side aisle.  The balcony divides and does one or the other path.

 

After you receive both elements, stand and return to your pew.  “Tables” will not be individually blessed.

 

All who are baptized and who commune in their home churches are welcome to share in this supper.  The very young, the un-baptized, and those who do not with to commune, may remain in their pews, or come forward for a pastoral blessing.)

ANTIQUES ROAD SHOW – MAYTOWN STYLE!

   This month’s Maytown Historical Society Meeting will feature an antique appraisal for all members of the society who wish to bring along 3 treasures from the past.  (If you are not now a member, you can join at the meeting.  Dues are $5.00 a year or $50.00 for life.)  the meeting is on Tuesday night (the 8th) at 7:00 PM, the program element begins at 7:45 PM.

VOICES FOR HOPE CONCERT!

   Next Sunday, our Praise Band will join with praise bands from 3 other Lancaster County Lutheran Congregations, at Zion Lutheran Church, in Leola, for a benefit concert to raise funds for Hurricane Relief.  This is the very first concert of its kind for the Lutheran Church, and it will give us a chance to hear bands from other congregations who, like us, are fairly new to the contemporary Christian music scene.  Pleas support this concert with your presence.  Our band will appreciate the support you show, you’ll have a grand time, and a good cause will be served.  The concert starts at 6:00 Pm and there is enough seating for 400.  Paul Purnell will drive the church van for those who would prefer not to drive or who do not drive.  The van will leave from the church parking lot at 5:00 Pm on Sunday, the 13th.  (Tell Paul if you need to be picked up at your house.) (A sign up sheet awaits van riders.)

 

PASTOR OUT OF TOWN, STATE, COUNTRY, AND CONTINENT

   Pastor will be on vacation from November 9 through November 22.  he goes back to work on Thanksgiving Eve.

   Most of that time, he will be un-reachable, because he will be 3,000 miles away in England or Scotland.

   If you need Pastoral services, please call JoNan at 426-2353 (home) or 653-1468 (work) and she will notify Pastor Kay Rader of the Maytown Reformed Church, who is on-call for hospital visits and emergencies.  Pastor Peirson, our former pastor, will also be available for funerals.

WORKERS ARE NEEDED…

…to help build a 5th temporary shelter.  This one is located in Florin (Mt. Joy).  Carpenters, masons, plumbers, electricians, and un-skilled laborers are needed.  The work begins on November 12th.  If you will help, please sign-up on the narthex sheet.  Questions?  Talk to Pastor.

 

 VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED…

…to staff a church open house on December 18, from 1 to 4 pm on that Sunday afternoon.  The plan is for all the Maytown churches to be open to visitors, so that Holiday decorations can be displayed and Evangelical outreach accomplished.

   We need:  costumed guides in Colonial attire, one or two people to staff a hospitality table, bakers of holiday treats, singers and instrument players to play in 15 – minute time slots in our sanctuary, as guides lead guests through the building.  See Pastor if you will help.

 

“SIGHT AND SOUND” CHRISTMAS OUTING

   Thirty great tickets have been purchased by the church for the December 3 show at the Strasburg Theater.  Details are posted in the tower.  So far, 23 tickets have been bought.  7 are still available

 

ANOTHER CARING OPPORTUNITY

…awaits all members of St. John’s, as our Social Ministry Committee asks you to donate the contents of a “Health Kit”.  A list of items needed for the kit, are with the display in the tower window.  Each household in the congregation is asked to donate 1 or 2 kits before December 1.  The kits will be assembled by the committee and taken down to the Lutheran World Relief Warehouse for distribution around the world and elsewhere in the U.S.A.  Our goal is to make 75 kits.  Please help!  A kit costs $10 - $15.
