THE SYMPATHY OF THE CONGREGATION
…is extended to the family and friends of Ivy Kline, who died at Ephrata Manor Nursing Home on Thursday evening, at the age of 86. Ivy was the widow of Merv Kline and a longtime member of our church. After leaving her Mount Joy home several years ago, she lived with her daughter, Jane Wolf, in Ephrata, and then, two years ago, went to two nursing homes. May Easter bless our sister with life eternal and joy forever.
TODAY! FEAST!

WHITE ROSE DEADLINE
Today is the last day that you can order white roses to remember a loved one in our All Saints’ Sunday floral cross. At press time, only 48 roses had been ordered and we need a total of 150 to fill the cross. Use the enclosed order form and give it, and your money, to either Pastor or Diane as you leave church today.
ALSO REGARDING NEXT SUNDAY
…let’s start a new tradition here at St. John’s! Bring along a photo or two of a loved one who has died, and set it in a windowsill, together with a small, lit votive candle. It’s a great way to celebrate All Saints Day – our Easter.
NEWSLETTER ARTICLES
…for the November-December-January Newsletter are due November 5th.
ST. JOHN’S CROP WALK UPDATE
…St. John’s total amount raised was $2,080. Thank you everyone.
THANKS ALSO TO
…Dick Baker for helping to affix the vinyl sign to its base and to Betty Henny for paying for it.
ANIMAL BLESSING REPORT
Last Sunday afternoon we held our first Blessing of the Animals Service in the main parking lot on a lovely …albeit breezy, fall day. There were 45 humans present and 23 dogs, 5 cats, and 1 horse. (Actually, the horse got blessed privately in his stable.. “Sunshine” belongs to Lauren Ross.)
Thanks to everyone who made the day such a success! Thanks to Sheri for publicity, Katie, Marilyn, Chris and Karen for food table and for set-up and take down.
A REMINDER TO ALL CATECHUMENS!
Don’t forget that we are going on a field trip to Gettysburg on Veteran’s Day, Saturday, November 11th. Be at the church by 9:00 AM sharp with about $5.00 for lunch at a fast food place…and another couple of dollars for ice cream at Dairy Queen. There are 8 catechumens, Glenn and Pastor. That means that there is only room in the van for three mentors. The other five mentors, and parents that may wish to join us, will have to provide their own transportation. The agenda includes a tour of the Seminary by one of its greatest Alumni and a romp at Devil’s Den – plus lots of battlefield data by expert Glenn.
