CROP WALK ‘07
On Sunday, October 23rd, the area’s streets and countryside will again be peopled by members of about a dozen Christian congregations who have obtained monetary gifts from sponsors in order to walk for hungry people.
You are asked to be part of this annual ministry by doing one or more of the following:
1. Get a sponsor form from Pastor and walk on the 5 or 10k walk…3 or 6 miles
2. Sponsor a walker – a list of walkers will be posted in the narthex. Please approach the walker with an offer of sponsorship or say “yes” to their appeal.
3. Help with the registration on the day of the walk.
All who walk are asked to bring along at least one non-perishable food item for donation to the Food Bank.
Sponsors may donate any amount of money and gifts may be designated to Lutheran World Relief – “LWR” on the last column of the form.
Twenty-five percent of the funds raised go to the local Christian food bank of which we are a part. The remainder goes to help people nationally and around the world through Church World Service (CROP) or a designated agency like LWR.
Questions? Talk to Pastor.
Our goal is $8,000, with St. John’s again hoping to contribute one quarter of that. Please help. Thank you.
