UP-DATE…

Pastor returned to the parsonage late Sunday night, after a 2½-day, 1200-mile drive from Florida, along with his father, three tropical fish, and a carload of stuff.  Mr. Lescallette will live with Pastor’s sister until the moving van arrives in Harrisburg.

Monday was spent going through mountains of mail, paying bills, touching base with a few lay leaders, and checking on Ann Frank.

Tuesday was “back to work” day – a day earlier than anticipated.  Pastor will use the remaining vacation day to help his dad move into the apartment when the van arrives.

Thanks to all who helped St. John’s life and work continue in the past two weeks.

AFTER TODAY’S SERVICE

…please stay and enjoy a glass of lemonade and a cookie or two, provided by Pastor.

THE SYMPATHY OF THE CONGREGATION

…is extended to Sue Frank and her family, at the news of the death of her father, Jim Smith.  Jim died at the Hospice facility and his funeral took place at St. Luke’s in Bainbridge on Wednesday.  Easter peace to Sue, Bob, Katie and Spencer.

THE FIRST MEETING OF THE NEW CONFIRMATION CLASS

…will occur at 10:00 AM on Sunday, September 10th.  All who plan on entering the class, which leads to confirmation in two years, should plan on attending.  The class is open to any un-confirmed member (or non-member) who is entering 6th grade in public school or who is younger than 18.  Talk to Pastor is you have a question.

NEW FALL SCHEDULE

…the Congregation Council, acting upon the majority recommendation of a special meeting of the Worship and Music and Christian Education committees, has decided upon the following schedule to begin on Sunday, September 10, 2006:

        9:00 AM                           Contemporary Service

       10:00 AM                           Sunday School/Catechetics

       11:00 AM                           Traditional Service

The decision to organize the times of our coming together as Christ’s church was a difficult one, and we pray that the congregation will support it in the spirit of Christ.  After a six-month trial, the decision will be reviewed.
