WELCOME, PASTOR KURZ!

We welcome to our pulpit and chancel this day, the Rev. Robert Kurz, a retired Lutheran minister who now lives just north of Lancaster, in Manheim Township.  Pastor Kurz is a native of the Philadelphia area, but his youth was spent in Harrisburg. While in the capital, he belonged to Christ Lutheran Church and was inspired by that church’s famous pastor, Rev. Rudisill (Pastor Lescallette’s mentor, Rev. Harry T. Richwine, Jr., was also a son of Christ Church.)  Pastor Kurz was graduated from Gettysburg Seminary and ordained in 1956.  Following a chaplaincy in the Air Force, he served his home parish, St. Luke’s in Roaring Spring, and “finished up” at Shoeneck, on the other side of Lancaster County.  We welcome him to St. John’s

WELCOME, ALSO, GUEST “ORGANIST” CHARLIE JOHNS!

Keith is also on the fellowship trip, but he pre-recorded the music for today’s service.  Charlie johns, our “Maestro” of sound technology, will press the appropriate buttons.  Thanks Charlie!

PASTOR LESCALLETTE

…Will return to Maytown sometime today with the bus load of St. Johners who went on the trip to Asheville.  Pastor Hoffman is still on call for emergencies, until Pastor returns.

IMPORTANT WORSHIP HOUR CHANGE!!

Next Sunday, and on all succeeding Sundays, we shall worship at 10:30 am.  The half hour earlier time ensures that we shall conclude by noon.  We hope you like the change.  We chose not to go to earlier “summer hours” for only two months to avoid greater confusion with all the time changes in the past year.
