THE PRAYERS OF THE DAY (see insert)

And

   Pastor:       Heavenly Father,

                   Lord of All Nations,

We pause in the midst of a busy season, to thank you for the gift of this Nation, and for the self-giving love of those who served her in time of was and time of peace –

Who, indeed, serve her still – extending themselves on our behalf, and in imitation of Your Blessed Son, our crucified Savior.  May we, your church, never come to have a spirit of deepest gratitude for Him, and for all those who bear the cross of death-defying, life-affirming love, and may we, ourselves, follow the path that they have trod, in faithfulness and joy.

   People:       AMEN

THANKS, JO!

Today, we thank JoNan Shirk for serving as our Parish Secretary for the past 4 years.  She will continue singing in the Choir and Praise Band, and will help with VBS etc., but will no longer prepare the weekly bulletins, bi-monthly newsletters, or Annual Bulletin of Reports.  Neither will she be the contact person during Pastor’s absences from the Parish.  Those duties will fall to her successor, Diane Leonard.

We thank Jo for all her past devoted service, and look forward to other areas in which we shall work together in the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom.
