C:     We thank You Lord

L2:     for the mothers who rejoiced in our victories and shared     the sorrow of our defeats.

C: We thank You Lord

L3:   for the mothers who spent sleepless nights tending to our coughs and fevers.

C: We thank You Lord

L1:    for the mothers whose special touch created a safe, comfortable sanctuary we call home.

C: We thank You Lord

L2:    for the mothers who held our hands through the transitions of life.

C: We thank You Lord

L3:     for the mothers who loved us even when we were bad, and so showed us the meaning of faithfulness.

C: We thank You Lord

L1:    for the mothers who drew from an endless supply of optimism as they encouraged us to discover our strengths and test our wings.

C: We thank You Lord

L2:    for the mothers who, in the evening, knelt by our beds and showed us how to pray and how to trust in Jesus.

L1: Today we honor those mothers whose unconditional love has made us strong,

L 2: and we honor those mothers whose commitment to their children is unwavering,

L3: and we honor those mothers who raise their children in fear and respect of You.

L1: Help all the mothers present today be bearers of Your redeeming love to their families.

L2: Help us as parents and as a church to raise the little girls among us into strong women of God . . .

L3: . . . that in them the world may see the tender and compassionate love . . .

NEW WINDSOR TRIP

We shall transport a fine load of charitable gifts to the Lutheran World Federation Warehouse in New Windsor, MD tomorrow morning.  We shall deliver 850 bars of soap, about 14 quilts, and 10 boxes of used men’s clothing and women’s sweaters.  Then we shall have our usual scrumptious lunch at Maggie’s of Westminster before heading home.  If you’d like to go along, tell Pastor.  (He will make home pick-ups if requested.  Others should be at church at 9 AM, when he will swing by with the van.)

THANKS…

…to everyone who helped with the rummage sale, which earned our youth group about $1,200 – plus matching funds from Thrivent.  (Thanks especially to those who helped pack and distribute the leftovers in such a timely fashion too – The Franks, McConnells and Hafers.)

…to all those who helped clean our sanctuary’s chandeliers and interior after the painters left.  35 of us helped out!

…to the Property Committee and its task forces, for all your hard work in carrying through the painting project.

…thanks to Jim Leonard, Wayne Hoffmann, Gordy Nell, Paul Purnell, Dick Baker, Chris Harnish, and Diane Leonard.  Thanks for 17 months of hard work!

…to Dave Weirnicki and Bill Heidig, our painters, for a beautiful job.

…to Tom Triple, who replaced two rotted window sills so quickly and so expertly.

…to the congregation, for paying for the painting and repair through your regular gifts to the building fund.  (The work cost about $15,000 in toto.)

C.E./VBS MEETING
