ATTENTION ALL CHAIRMEN and GROUP LEADERS
Our final New Member Class will be held on May 6, at 7:00 PM. If you’d like to come and introduce yourself and tell what your committee does, that would be nice. Show up between 7:30 and 8:30 PM. Thanks!
THANKS
…to Chris Chapman and Dick Baker for leveling off cemetery graves and cleaning up around the stone church sign on the 21st, and to Charlie Johns for supplying the soil.
…to Chris and Mark Harnish, for building up the soil on the east side of the patio so as to facilitate better water drainage there. Thanks also to Mark for installing extenders atop the window wells, and wire mesh.
…to all who helped and attended this weekend’s Catechetical Retreat.
MAYFEST THIS SATURDAY
The Maytown Historical Society invites you to share in their Annual “Mayfest” on the town square this Saturday from 10 AM until 3 PM. This is one of three fundraisers that the Society depends upon to raise money for the upkeep of the museum and programming. There will be a new exhibit in the museum, “Made In Maytown”; skilled craftsmen will demonstrate their crafts on the square; the Wallander’s front yard will again be the site of a homemade food stand and souvenir table; and there will be the usual Maypole dance and cake walks.
SOUND SYSTEM OFFERING REPORT
Last Sunday’s special collection to fund the new sound system yielded $1,754. We needed $508 to pay the system off. Thanks to all who gave to the project, and to those who served on the task force to oversee the installation – JoNan Shirk, Glenn Bachert, Charlie Johns, Paul Purnell and Gene Rehkugler. Whatever remains left, after all sound system bills have been paid, will be placed in a fund designated by Council.
COMING SOON – MUSICALE ’07!
Mark your calendars and, tell your family and friends! St. John’s will again put on a gala evening of music on Memorial Day, starting at 7:30 PM. A dozen singers are preparing solos, duets, and ensemble pieces; and we shall again have a sing-along and a salute to the Veterans present. This year’s offering will go toward supplying personal care items to our wounded troops from the Iraq and Afghanistan fronts. The evening will conclude with strawberries and ice cream.
CONGRATULATIONS
…to Rose Barr and her fellow Red Rose Chorus of the Sweet Adelines for placing 1st and 2nd in a recent competition.

+SHAWN CONNOR NESS+
We welcome into the Church of Jesus Christ, and this congregation of that church, today, Shawn Connor Ness. Shawn (whom we all call “Connor”) has been attending our Sunday School and church for some time now. He lives in Maytown with his Dad, Shawn, and Barb, Derek and Ryan Boccagno. Born in York on May 20, 1997, Connor is just shy of his 10th birthday. We pray God’s richest blessings upon him as he becomes our brother-in-Christ today.
