CATECHETICAL RETREAT THIS WEEKEND
Pastor, Glenn, and eight Catechumens, and some of the most intrepid mentors will spend 24 hours together on an abbreviated church retreat. We will review and reinforce learnings about the life of Christ via games, a movie, and some writing. We shall also go on a field trip to Bindnagel’s Lutheran Church in Palmyra to see a church that still looks exactly like our church looked when it was built in 1804.
All participants should bring a sleeping bag and bed linens…if you like, a snack to share, and money for Saturday’s supper ($5 or so).
We were unable to secure our hoped-for retreat site, so we will save money by just staying at St. John’s and foregoing a shower on Saturday morning.
THE SYMPATHY OF THE CONGREGATION
…is extended to Vicki McConnell and her family at the news of the death, on Easter, of her beloved Aunt Rose Mull. Rose was 95, and she lived in Ephrata.
…is extended to Mike and Charleen Smeltzer at the news of the death, on Tuesday, of Mike’s mother, Edith. Edith was 88 and a resident of the Susquehanna Nursing Home.
May the peace of Easter bless one and all.
