MAYTOWN 250TH UPDATE

On Tuesday, April 29, at 7:00 pm, all those who wish to help organize Maytown’s 250th Birthday Bash in 2010 are asked to meet as committees, elect officers, and decide if there are enough resources at our disposal to pull the celebration off.  If you care, please come.

A.L.I.V.E.                                 April 18th 2008 - 6:30 to 8:45 PM.

… (that is, A Lively Inspirational Variety Evening) is our once a month fellowship night to build up spiritual relationship to God and meaningful friendships with other. CIA Group, Junior & Senior High students meet in Social Hall. All groups are encouraged to introduce new friends to our accepting Christian community. We welcome any and all youth who wish to participate in our activities. We also welcome any adult volunteers who want to help out!

URGENT NEED! PLEASE VOLUNTEER!!

After serving our church well, Janet Mohr has decided to resign her positions of Junior Choir Leader, and Contemporary Service Projectionist.  Without a choir leader, we will not be able to have a place for our younger singers come September; without a projectionist, the Contemporary Service will face big challenges to foster congregational participation in worship next month.  Can you help us?  Will you?  Please speak to Pastor as soon as possible.  Thank you for caring.

A NICE WAY OF HELPING OUR CHURCH

…face the cost of repairing our historic belfry came from a lay member of St. John’s.   They suggested that everyone who will receive a payment from the Government to “jump start” the economy be encouraged to give a portion of those un-planned-for-funds to the church’s Building Fund.  Think about it, please.

KNITTING AND CROCHETING

…we will be meeting this Friday, in the parlor at 7:00 pm.  Please join us, we knit, crochet, talk and talk some more and enjoy each other’s company and of course make all sorts of items for good causes.  These are projects you can work on while watching TV or riding in the car or waiting for an appointment.  If you’re new to knitting or crocheting or a little rusty…we’ll help you get started…see ya Friday!!  We will be taking time off from our weekly get-togethers after the last Friday of April.  But of course continue our projects over the summer months and come together again in the Fall when we will deliver our completed items to the Women’s and Baby Hospital at the Health Campus.  Thanks, again, to Chris Harnish for her continuing yarn donations.
