GUESS WHO…

THE WORSHIP AND MUSIC COMMITTEE…

…is planning to polish the brass for Easter Sunday on April 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m.  The Committee is asking for volunteers to help with this job.  Anybody that can come is welcome and will make the job much quicker.

THANKS!

My sincere thanks to all in our church family who pulled together and helped the parish function well in my absence on emergency leave, the last 2 weeks.

A special thanks to Pastor Peirson for his preaching at the 4 services and today; to Pat Vogel for leading the Lenten Supper discussion; and to all committee members and group personnel for “staying at your posts”.

Also  - a huge thank you to Sheri and Cliff Hafer for handling cat care and cleaning the refrigerator at my house (a Herculean labor!) – and to Chris Harnish for her cleaning of the whole house, her Easter decorations, and her donation of homecoming meals.   I thank God for you all!                                          - Pastor

ABOUT PASTOR’S DAD

Pastor’s dad has chosen to stop his radiation and chemotherapy for his aggressive lung cancer because it was not having the desired effect and it was producing very unpleasant side-effects.  Instead, if he is able to recover his strength in the next 3 – 4 weeks, he will fly to Washington D.C. where Pastor will take him to the National Institute of Health for possible acceptance in an experimental protocol.  He is now in a Hospice program for support of many kinds, while in Florida.  An effort is being made to try and get him and his wife re-located in a retirement community either in New York (where her sons live) or here.

Pastor and his sister might have to come to their Father’s aid at any time, but, for now, things or o.k.

   Prayers are, of course, welcome.

OTHER PARISH NEWS

Bill Vogel has to have heart by-pass surgery soon.

Dick and Louise Baker moved into their new home near Gladys, Frank & Ginny, and Leonard.  Their address is:

                        677 Ivy Drive

SECRET PAL PROGRAM

During April 16th until June 4th we will be holding a “Secret Pal” program.  This will be for the adults of the congregation to be a secret pal to the children.  On June 4th the identity of the secret pal will be revealed at a “Secret Pa;” breakfast beginning at 9:00 a.m.  If you are interested in participating please sign up by April 12th.  We need about 20 adults to sign up and so far we have 8.

SOAP!!

At press time, the congregation has donated 472 bars of bath-size soap to the Social Ministry Lenten Appeal.  That means we have 2 weeks to collect 128 more bars to reach our goal of 600.  if you will help place soap in the tub, where it can be counted.  Do not put it in the tower window well where that wall of soap now stands.  Thank you!
