Lent 2                                                                                March 20, 2011

                                                                                                 10:30 A. M.

Today, St. John’s gathers to worship in what some have termed a “contemporary” style.  While the structure of the service is fairly traditional, albeit simpler, the music is largely from the modern era, and we are led by a “praise band” consisting of a pianist, flutist, another keyboard player, and lead singers, rather than an organist and choir (as happens on other Sundays here).

All you need to do to become involved in the service is to listen and to respond, watching for instructions and words which will be projected on to the front wall of the sanctuary.  You need not use a hymnal, and this bulletin does not contain service information. It only provides announcements concerning our life together outside of worship.

Thanks for joining us today, to praise our Lord!

SYNOD DELEGATES NEEDED!

We again are in need of a male and female volunteer to accompany pastor to this year’s synod assembly at Messiah College in Grantham.  The assembly lasts from Thursday, June 2 through Saturday, June 4.  Sessions begin around 9 AM and conclude about 9 PM on the first two days and 1 PM on Saturday.   We overnight at our homes.  St. John’s pays for your registration and meals.  Any active confirmed member of the congregation, youth or adult, is eligible to go and represent us.  Talk to Pastor if you have a question or wish to volunteer for the service, as soon as possible, but before April 4th.  This is a good way to experience the life of the larger church.

ST. JOHN’S GIFT CARD PROGRAM…….

The first week $1925.00 in cards were purchased. The second week $1950.00 in cards were purchased. Our profit is $193.75---a lot of money in a 2 week period that we did not have before.---Slowly, but surely! We thank all who are supporting us!
