ABOUT TODAY’S COMMUNION BREAD
Thanks to Pat Vogel and the children of the “Kings Kitchen” workshop of our Sunday school for providing today’s unleavened bread! The Sunday school’s theme this year is “sacred meals”.
TONIGHT’S CONTEMPORARY SERVICE…
…will be briefer than usual, and there will not be a food/fellowship time afterwards so that attendees can watch most of the Super Bowl if they like.

THANKS TO THE 8 FOLKS…
…who helped transport stuff to the LWR warehouse in Maryland last Monday. We took 66 health kits, 13 quilts, 5 blankets, and 80 lbs. Of new and used clothing to help the world’s poor.
SOUP AND SANDWICH SALE
The Maytown Historical Society will sell beef vegetable soup and ham and cheese sandwiches on February 18th. You can place your order on a sign-up sheet in the narthexes. Places are listed on the sheets. Food can be picked up at the church kitchen. See Gordie Nell if you have a question. (Profits benefit the MHS Museum).
2006 SYNOD ASSEMBLY DELEGATES NEEDED
the Synod Assembly will take place on Friday, June 9 and Saturday, June 10, at Gettysburg College. Each congregation in our Synod must send their Pastor (s) and a male and female lay person to represent them at the conclave. All confirmed, communing, and contributing members of the congregation may serve. If interested in being our male or female representative, please talk to Pastor before February 6. Council will make the choice on that day. This is a good way to see what the church does beyond the congregational level. Anyone from 15 to 95 can go.
OPEN MIC NIGHT
There will be an open mic night on Friday evening February 17th. Open Mic Night is open to all youth from 7 – 10 pm., there will be a sign up sheet at the door if you would like to sign up to sing, play an instrument, or both. Donation's = $5.00 Per Person, food will be available. The youth group is also collecting items for a rummage sale to be held April 29th the last Saturday in April. If you have any items you would like to donate, please bring them to the Youth Group Room. (gently used clothing, household items, toys, jewelry) If you need help with getting items to the church please call Sue or Bob Frank at 367-3943. SYG... we will be meeting tonight at 4:30
VALENTINE PARTY
Pre-register - ( Sign Up Sheet) for all at front and back doors. Required by February 5th. Children in 2nd to 5th Grade, (CIA) - VICTRICIA (VICKIE) McCONNELL & (SYG), 6th to 12th grades. SUE FRANK. There will be games, crafts, and surprises. Younger children from 1st grade and under must be with a parent at all times. Adults are welcome and encouraged to come.
GLUTEN-FREE WAFERS
In response to a request fro a member, St. John’s will provide gluten-free communion wafers to those who cannot tolerate wheat in their diet. Tell Pastor if you require such wafers.
HELP…
…the Parish Pig to get people into our church. He is on the radiator in the narthex. Take a pink sheet and put the name, and address of someone you think would come to church, or if someone just moved in the area. Put the paper in the slot in the pig’s back. The Parish Pig will do the rest.
